The certification audit consists of 2 stages. The length of the audit is determined according to the size of your organization, the number of locations and the scope of the certification.

The purpose of the Stage 1 audit is to determine whether your organization is ready for the Stage 2 certification audit. During stage 1 audit, the auditor of CFECERT will examine your management system documents and evaluate your organization-specific conditions.

In the certification audit, an on-site audit is made and the following points are taken into consideration;

- The auditor will see the goals and key performance indicators or important aspects are in place and understood,

- They will review the scope of the management system and learn about your processes and operations, the equipment used, the control points that have been established and your current legal or corrective (and remedial) activities,

- Internal audits and management review records will be evaluated to ensure they are planned and carried out and the general practices of your management system will be evaluated to determine whether your organization is ready for the Stage 2 Certification Audit.

Stage 2 audit evaluates the implementation and effectiveness of your organization’s management systems. During the Stage 2 audit, CFECERT will determine the degree of compliance with the requirements of the relevant standard and report to you any non-conformities or potential non-conformities that your organization needs to correct before the certificate is issued.

If the Stage 2 audit is successful, your organization’s certification process will be completed.

Stage 2 Audit

- All relevant documented information that proves the compliance of your management system with all the requirements of the standard is examined,

- Based on performance monitoring, measurement and evaluation, basic performance goals and your records of these goals are examined,

- The policies of your organization, evaluation of internal audits, management review and management responsibility records are checked,

- All your processes related to operational control and the ability to perform them as planned are examined.

The duration of the Stage 2 audit is calculated according to the conditions determined by the IAF (International Accreditation Forum).

Depending on the size and complexity of the organization, the second stage audit is done within 1 or more days.
